TECHNOLOGY WHICH IS RAPIDLY CHANGING

WINDOWS XP no longer supported

On Tuesday April 8, 2014 all support on Microsoft Windows XP will cease, so what that means?  Their design of improving Windos O/S as of this page was published Windows 8.1 is the newest O/S and literally a new PC with all the current hardware and its driver updates to keep up with the Information technology of this century.

The concern of Malware, and Viruses is everybody's concern, I myself replaced Microsoft Security Essentials to another Vendor software which is listed in 2014 Top Anti Virus Software, also I use a Malware scanner, in FACT I had 24 viruses quarantined on my PC as well 2 pieces of Malware that infected my PC.

So you ask,  what about those ads on TV on free Antivirus scans?, my answer, DON"T buy it! Reason, the major players offer updates on a daily basis, also customer support is a plus, I use a free AV program form the #1 best selling and have in my honest opinion is not bloatware.

Also if you find to spend a few extra dollars (around $30.00 or so) you can get extras, its a matter of what you want in security protection.

Apple Computer

Unfortunately I have very little knowledge with Apple products, only their iPod was the only device I owned, also their podcast downloads is a great way to stay with whatever a person desire, (8Track tapes & Cassettes went out only maybe found on auction sites, yard sales, and the like).,

I do see that the iPhone as well iPad has hundreds of apps being created all of the time.

Sometime in the future I hope to venture into this area, I known some places of education the person may have been exposed to this O/S which is cool, and I do appreciate the founders as well, anyone recall Macintosh?

LINUX THE ALTERNATE O/S

I decided to go buy at a rummage sale a PC that had Windows Vista removed, well Microsoft has licensing agreements on all of thier software.

To me this was an opportunity to experiment with LINUX FEDORA 16, well I put the install disk and a few hours later I decided to see what it was all about.

Minus the HCL (Harware Compatiability List)  I found my Dell A922 Scanner /Printer is not a LINUX supported hardware, LINUX attempted to install a generic driver ( Anyone recalled generic foods, motor oil, etc?)

Nice thing about Open Source Software NO LICENSE!

There are different variations of Linux, including Android Phones and Tablets, I have bought on a Auction site a Tablet operating Android O/S, so far I added a few MP3 files (MP4 has video and uses more disk space) .

Technology has dramatically improved at a rapid pace,
